Campbell Carrington Sellers Obituary (2022) – Elizabeth City, NC

Campbell Carrington (Cam) Sellers, 92, of Manteo, North Carolina went to join his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 12, 2022.
Born August 23, 1929 in Stamford, Connecticut, Cam is the son and only child of John Hawley and Madeleine (Carrington) Ingalls, Jr. In 1941, his mother married Abbott Mannie Sellers, a tax attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice. Justice. Cam graduated from the University of Virginia in 1951 and immediately began a 40-year career in Charleston, West Virginia with the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company of West Virginia, interrupted by a 2-year enlistment in the Navy. American during the Korean War. Cam was very proud to represent the Bell System in the Kanawha Valley, serving in civic organizations and on the boards of Junior Achievement, National Youth Science Foundation, Bank of Dunbar, Herbert J. Thomas Memorial Hospital and West Virginia State College Foundation, including its work in bringing the Opportunities Industrialization Center of America and Junior Achievement to Charleston. He retired from Bell Atlantic-West Virginia, Inc., to become executive director of the West Virginia State College Foundation.
In 2001, Cam and his wife, former Mary Angela May, moved to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Cam had great love for Manteo and especially his extended family at Mount Olivet United Methodist Church.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Angie; sons Michael (Ginny) Sellers of Augusta, Georgia, and Robert (Kim) Sellers of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his daughter Pamela (Tom) Hundley of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; grandson Brian (Rebekah) Sellers of Dallas, TX; grandson Blake (Madison) Sellers of Fayetteville, AR; grandson Thomas Hundley, Jr., of Broken Arrow, OK; grandson Benjamin Hundley of Tulsa, OK; granddaughter Natalie (Linus) Groeger of Broken Arrow, OK; and five great-grandchildren.
The family would like to give special thanks to Adoration Hospice for the care and support provided to Cam.
A celebration of his life will be led by the Rev. Jerry Cribb on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., at Mount Olivet United Methodist Church, 300 Ananias Dare Street, Manteo, North Carolina. Private burial at a later date. Cam would truly appreciate memorial contributions being made to the Pastor’s Discretionary Fund of Mount Olivet United Methodist Church (PO Box 787, Manteo, NC 27954).
