Full launch alongside sports betting CT, iGaming
This week a soft launch, next week’s betting will be open to everyone in Connecticut after full testing of Rush Street Interactive, FanDuel and DraftKings with limited players and hours. Those hours will drop to 24/7 on Saturday, and according to the regulator, all systems are ready for a full launch on Tuesday.
“Everything has been going well so far, and our team looks forward to continuing to work with operators during the remainder of the phased launch,” said Kaitlyn Krasselt, communications director for the Consumer Protection Department. Associated Press. “As long as no major issues arise, the full launch will begin next week.”
The soft launch began on Tuesday with limited hours and each operator allowed 750 customers to participate. Next week’s full launch precedes NFL Week 7 and almost just in time for the start of the NBA and NHL seasons. The trio of sites will be accessible to all players aged 21 and over who are willing to bet legally.
Mohegan Sun (FanDuel) and Foxwoods (DraftKings) launched physical sports betting on September 30. The Tribes and their partners will offer digital and iCasino betting, while the Connecticut State Lottery will launch its sports betting platform with Rush Street Interactive. under the PlaySugarHouse banner. State law does not allow the lottery to offer an online casino. Sports betting behemoths turned DFS will bring casinos online alongside their sports betting, as Connecticut will become the second state after Michigan to unveil iCasinos and sports betting at the same time.
For the record, lawmakers and tribal leaders broke a four-year deadlock over legal sports betting and iGaming in March when Governor Ned Lamont helped negotiate new tribal state agreements with the two tribes , the state lottery being finally included in the sports betting side. Lawmakers approved the pacts in May.
FanDuel and DraftKings, with over 25% of the domestic market each, have emerged as powerhouses in betting management and revenue, while BetRivers / PlaySugarHouse has hovered around the 4-5% mark nationally.
“In Connecticut, we don’t have any of that – it’s brand new. And it’s not a progressive thing. We are jumping into something completely new ”, said Krasselt Sport grip. “Our main goal is to make sure that businesses can operate in a fair market and that consumers are protected. “
Welcome aboard, Connecticut, but keep your head on a pivot.
Sports betting is finally paying off for Rose?
It’s been 32 years since Pete Rose was banned from baseball for betting, and he finally has a chance to capitalize. There is a certain irony in the idea that one of the best and most well-known baseball players in history has been kicked out of the game but can now make a living publicly because of the very thing that did it. banish.
Last week it was announced that Rose will place the first bet when the former Jack Casino in Cincinnati reopens under the Hard Rock banner on October 29, and last week it kicked off a six-day-a-week gig hosting “Pete Rose’s Daily Picks”. The Hit King has stated that this is a podcast for “handicapping” and not for the game. If you read between the lines, it seems that Rose is trying to convince herself as much as we are:
“I love sports. I know I can help people who want to bet on sports,” Internal hook quoted Rose as saying. “I know what it looks like, and people will criticize, but it’s not a game. It’s crippling. I am disabled. Remember, this is crippling. That’s all. It is happening everywhere. All I do is put my expertise to work for those who want to bet. ”
While it seems clear that Rose still embraces the game, still believes he’s innocent, and still loves baseball, it’s also clear that aside from causing him emotional pain, Bart Giamatti’s lifetime ban at the Temple of fame does not seem to have had any tangible effect on Rose’s way of life. Considering everything we’ve seen since Rose’s ban – the era of steroids, the cheating, the seemingly continuous stream of player arrests – part of me is like “Good for you, Charlie Hustle!” while the other party wonders if Rose is just being rewarded for an addiction.
