How important is this stretch to you in order to achieve some consistency over the next few races?

“I think if we keep doing what we’re doing and don’t change anything, don’t start overthinking it and keep bringing fast Chevrolet Camaros to the track, I think the finishes will sort themselves out. There should only be two races that we should have finished outside of the top 10. All the other races should have been in the top 10 or top five. We got caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. That’s just of the race and you have to move on.

Do you get a sense of speed from inside the car in Dover?

“You definitely get a really great sense of speed at Dover. I know the first laps I always do there, it takes your breath away. It feels like running at 200 miles per hour around this place and it takes a few laps to settle in.

You’ve had success at Dover since your first race there in 2013. What do you like about this track?

“I won the first time I was there in the K&N series in 2013, then when we came back the following year I won again. I didn’t win at the Truck Series level, but we always felt like we had speed and we often raced in the top 5. I think our Chevrolet United Rentals Xfinity Series will drive the same as the K&N cars, so hopefully we can do work. Dover is so fast and it’s so much fun to get around. From the first time I went there I understood how you have to approach the entry of the corner to be good on the exit. one of the key things that makes me pretty good at Dover.
